Registered Nurse — Specialist Medical Residential Children’s Service
About the Role
We are inviting applications from registered nurses to join a specialist residential service for children with complex medical and disability needs. The home is fully equipped and supported by a multidisciplinary team providing on-site therapy. The successful candidate will deliver effective, efficient, and quality-assured care to all residents.
Main Duties

Provide individualised care in line with each person’s care plan and sound clinical judgment.

Assess needs and develop person-centred care plans, incorporating input from the Care Services team.

Lead and support Care Assistants: allocate and supervise tasks; provide guidance, leadership, and training as required.

Attend and contribute to staff meetings.

Coordinate documentation and transport for external appointments and emergency services.

Maintain accurate, specific, person-centred progress notes for all residents and give a comprehensive handover to the incoming nurse.

Keep medication kardex information accurate and up to date.
Essential Requirements

Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) — RNID Division.

Working knowledge of HIQA National Standards and Health Act Regulations for Residential Care Settings.

Proficient IT skills; strong communication; team player; committed to high-quality, person-focused care.

Rostering: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days, Live Nights, Weekends); flexibility required.

Full driver’s licence and access to own car.
